We’ll probably be run out of the South, but we think this is an improvement on the Mint Julep. The lemon tames the mint so it does not overwhelm the drink as it can in a julep.
Ingredients:
- Lemon Wedges – 3
- Spearmint Leaves – 4 plus 1 sprig
- Orange Curaco – 1 ounce
- Maker’s Mark – 2 ounces
Method:
- Muddle the lemon wedges, mint leaves, and curaçao in a bar glass.
- Add the bourbon and ice and shake well.
- Strain the drink into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with the mint sprig.
- Serve immediately.
